Ingredion Incorporated, a food ingredient provider, has announced they will purchase a 75% stake in PureCircle, the maker of the natural sweetener Stevia.

The move comes at a critical time for PureCircle who has been experiencing a period of turmoil after disclosing a massive debt load and past accounting irregularities to investors.
