Maxlinear, a leading radio frequency analog and mixed-signal semiconductor company, is set to acquire Intel’s Home Gateway Platform Division assets in an all-cash deal totaling $150 million.

“These assets add significant scale to our entire business while enabling us to provide a compelling WiFi product offering with tremendous growth opportunities inside and outside of the Connected Home, including expanding the portfolio to include IoT solutions.”
Kishore Seendripu, CEO of MaxLinear
Intel and Maxlinear have had a history of collaboration in their delivery of gateway platforms, so the transition of Intel’s Home Gateway Platform Division should be fairly seamless, hopefully allowing Maxlinear to maximize synergies.
